Blue Grass Energy Awards Scholarships to Ten Local Students
Blue Grass Energy is pleased to announce the winners of its 2025 scholarship program. This year, the cooperative awarded ten $1,500 scholarships to graduating high school seniors across its service area.
Scholarships were awarded through a random drawing from a record-breaking number of applications. All recipients are enrolled in some form of higher education, including universities, colleges, or technical schools.
The 2025 Blue Grass Energy Scholarship recipients are:
- Alex Lee Smith – Frankfort
- Ella Claire Harilson – Nicholasville
- John Owen Crowder – Nicholasville
- Brookelyn Hays – Lawrenceburg
- Kinsley Alford – Frankfort
- Sage Huckins – Frankfort
- Sadie Perkins – Sadieville
- Breleigh Jewell– Nicholasville
- Jasmine Shelman – Lawrenceburg
- Harriet Welch – Frankfort
“We’re proud to support our youngest members as they take the next step in their education,” said Denise Myers, Vice President of Community Relations. “This year’s record number of applicants shows how important these scholarships are to our communities, and we’re honored to help ease the financial burden for these ten students.”
Blue Grass Energy’s scholarship program is part of the cooperative’s ongoing commitment to education and community support across its 23-county service area.
