Blue Grass Energy Rodeo teams brought home multiple awards from the recent Kentucky Lineman’s Rodeo, held July 26-27. They were also recognized for previously winning two championship titles; one in 2007 and another in 2010. Blue Grass Energy is one of only two cooperatives in the state to win the Kentucky Lineman’s Rodeo twice.

Blue Grass Energy gave away 1,705 free compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) to members at office locations in Nicholasville, Lawrenceburg, Cynthiana and Richmond in celebration of National Cooperative Month in October.
During Fluorescent Fridays, members who visited a BGEnergy office to pay their bill any Friday in October received a free CFL.

Hundreds of flag-waving family, friends and patriotic Americans packed the terminal at Louisville International Airport recently to welcome home veterans returning from a trip to visit the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C.
Twenty-nine veterans, ranging from ages 85 to 92, went on the one-day trip that was sponsored by Blue Grass Energy, Kentucky’s Touchstone Energy Cooperatives and the Bluegrass Chapter of the Honor Flight Network. All were veterans of World War II, except two who served during the Korean War.
