Severe storms and natural disasters can cause a variety of electrical safety hazards in and around our homes. Lightning, downed power lines, and floods are just a few of the serious safety concerns associated with storms. Blue Grass Energy gave away 1,705 free compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) to members at office locations in Nicholasville, Lawrenceburg, Cynthiana and Richmond in celebration of National Cooperative Month in October.
During Fluorescent Fridays, members who visited a BGEnergy office to pay their bill any Friday in October received a free CFL.

Hundreds of flag-waving family, friends and patriotic Americans packed the terminal at Louisville International Airport recently to welcome home veterans returning from a trip to visit the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C.
Twenty-nine veterans, ranging from ages 85 to 92, went on the one-day trip that was sponsored by Blue Grass Energy, Kentucky’s Touchstone Energy Cooperatives and the Bluegrass Chapter of the Honor Flight Network. All were veterans of World War II, except two who served during the Korean War.
